Kirby Kidz

See your child’s name in the Kirby Lights!  The Kirby Kidz program is an eight week long theatrical workshop open to both the experienced and novice actors ages five through eighteen years of age.  Each night of the performance that culminate the workshop, all of the students’ names are run across the F. M. Kirby Center’s Grand Marquee on the Pubic Square in Wilkes-Barre.  Be sure to bring your camera since this makes for a one of kind experience for both the children and their families!

Kirby Kidz is a product of the F.M. Kirby Center’s and the Harris Conservatory for the Arts outreach programs respectively. The two regional arts organizations have developed this actor’s clinic to offer a professional theater experience to children across Northeast Pennsylvania.  Workshop attendees spend the summer studying a variety of theatrical, musical and movement classes at the Conservatory with the ultimate goal of producing two musicals.  The students then take their work and stage it over two nights at the premiere theater in Northeastern Pennsylvania.   The Kirby Centre insures that they get the total “Kirby Experience” working with professional stage crew, using the same dressing rooms as some of their favorite acts who have appeared at the center, and parents are treated to all that the Kirby’s one of kind expert front of house staff, who make sure all needs are attended to.
